ICO Spotlight: Interview with Steve Sager from vDice

This post is part of the ICO Spotlight, a series of posts with the teams behind the different projects covered by Coinschedule.

I had the opportunity to chat with Steve about vDice and find out a little bit about the project.

Hi Steve, it’s nice to be able to chat a bit about vDice. Tell us a bit about what is vDice and what makes it interesting?

vDice is the world’s 1st FULLY decentralized gambling platform – using Ethereum, Smart Contracts and Blockchain.
It is LIVE and works today. It is the leading Dapp on the Ethereum blockchain.

That sounds great! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your team? Who’s behind the project, how did you guys meet?

Our core team consists of:

Jason Colby
Part of the original team that founded Ethereum.
Based in the Berlin ETHDev HQ 2014-2016.

David Zaegna
The older, more experienced compliance mind.
He has enjoyed a long career in the gaming industry.

Barney Wheatley:
Is a Social Media expert. He is new to blockchain, often providing a unique perspective on the space.

Tristan Winters:
A veteran of blockchain, through his writing and work with emerging market exchanges.
He started writing about us early. His business dev. skills are first rate, and he’s good at articulating the vision, so he joined.

Steven Sager
I’m a project management professional.
I was introduced to Ethereum early and saw great potential.
I am at the head of daily operations.

We also work with a large extended team of amazing developers, designers and tremendous talent.

The leading Smart Contract / Oracle developer team for Ethereum.
They lead the industry from their HQ in Europe’s Technology Hub: London.
So our developers choose only to work with the best. The Oraclize team are the best.

Our code is audited by legend Peter Vessenes, and his auditing company. He’s among the most respected blockchain security experts. ¬†Also he’s the former Former CEO of CoinLab, Inc and Co-Founder / Chairman Emeritus of the Bitcoin Foundation.

You guys are probably busy with your upcoming ICO, right? Can you share some information about it? When does it start, how long is it for, do you have any goals in mind

That’s right. The ICO is looking to be very big. It runs November 15th – December 15th.

It takes a large team of great professionals. Then you can run a live, working dapp on Ethereum. There is a lot of work involved.

Our goal is to:

i. Make on-blockchain betting, through an Oracle, as fast and efficient as possible.
We are already doing this. Already we are testing proofs. These have on-blockchain betting down to 5s.

vDice will only get faster and more efficient, very quickly. Then we will compete with centralized services.
So, you will have all the benefits of decentralization, and none of the drawbacks.

ii. Also, we will turn vDice into a platform for developers.
Good developers will write their own betting dapps and host them with the great and trusted vDice brand.

We already did this with a binary options game. It’s like a simplified version of Augur. It did so well.
We ran it on the live Ethereum network earlier this year.

Excellent. What about your post-ICO plans? How does your roadmap look like?

Our roadmap is available in 5 languages here. It is detailed.

It shows how we will keep vDice as the leading Dapp in decentralized blockchain. Please do read it:-
